Accessibility Statement

What we do to keep this site and the programme usable, what happens when something is in your way, and how to ask about an adjustment before you register.

Last updated September 2026 · version 2026-09

Engaging Industrial Learning Activities (EILA) is committed to making its website and programme information accessible and usable by as many people as reasonably possible.

We believe that access to practical skills and learning opportunities should not be unnecessarily limited by disability, age, language, technology or individual learning needs.

01Our Approach to Accessibility

We aim to make the EILA website straightforward to navigate and ensure that important information about programmes, registration, fees, schedules and participation is presented clearly.

We seek to:

  • use clear and understandable language;
  • organise information using meaningful headings and sections;
  • provide readable text and sufficient visual contrast;
  • use descriptive labels for links, buttons and forms;
  • make registration and enquiry processes as straightforward as reasonably possible;
  • avoid relying solely on colour to communicate important information;
  • provide text alternatives for important visual information where reasonably possible; and
  • consider accessibility when introducing new website features or digital services.

02Accessibility of Programme Information

EILA recognises that accessibility extends beyond the website.

Parents, guardians and learners who require reasonable assistance in understanding programme information, completing registration or communicating with the EILA team are encouraged to contact us.

Where reasonably possible, we will work with the learner and their parent or guardian to identify practical ways of supporting participation.

This may include providing information in an alternative format, clarifying instructions, assisting with registration or discussing specific participation requirements with the relevant trainer.

03Practical Training and Accessibility

Some EILA programmes involve practical activities using tools, machinery, electrical equipment, heat, materials or other workshop equipment.

Because the physical and safety requirements differ between skills, not every activity or training environment will be suitable for every learner.

We do not want assumptions about a learner's ability or disability to be a barrier to participation. Parents and guardians are encouraged to discuss accessibility requirements with us before registration so that we can determine what reasonable support or adjustments may be possible.

Where an adjustment cannot reasonably be made because of genuine safety, equipment or training limitations, we will explain the reason and, where possible, discuss alternative learning options.

04Accessibility and Children

EILA works with young people, including learners under the age of 18.

We recognise that accessibility needs may involve communication, physical access, sensory needs, learning differences or other individual circumstances.

Where a learner is a child, we encourage parents and guardians to provide relevant information that will help trainers and programme organisers support the learner appropriately and safely.

Any personal information provided for this purpose will be handled in accordance with the EILA Privacy Statement.

05Third-Party Content

The EILA website may contain links to or rely on third-party services, including payment platforms, social media platforms, registration tools and websites operated by programme partners.

While we seek to work with services that are reasonably accessible, EILA does not control the accessibility of third-party platforms.

If you experience difficulty using a third-party service linked through the EILA website, please contact us where assistance may be possible.

06Accessibility Limitations

We are continually working to improve accessibility, but some parts of the website or programme may not yet be fully accessible to everyone.

Some older content, third-party tools, documents or embedded materials may have accessibility limitations.

We welcome information about these limitations so that we can assess and address them where reasonably possible.

07Feedback and Assistance

If you have difficulty accessing information on the EILA website, completing a registration, making an enquiry or understanding programme information, please contact us.

When contacting us, it is helpful to tell us:

  • the page, form or information you were trying to access;
  • what difficulty you experienced; and
  • the type of assistance or alternative format that would be helpful, where you know it.

You do not need to provide detailed information about a disability unless it is relevant to the assistance you are requesting.

We will make reasonable efforts to respond and identify an appropriate way to assist.

08Ongoing Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing process.

As EILA develops its website, registration systems, learning activities and programme materials, we will continue to look for practical ways to improve accessibility and inclusion.

Something in your way? Tell us and we will help.

Whether it is a page you cannot read, a form you cannot complete, or a question about whether a workshop will suit a particular learner — get in touch before you register, so we have time to work something out.

It helps us if you can tell us:

  • the page, form or information you were trying to use;
  • what made it difficult; and
  • what would help, if you already know.

You do not need to explain a disability to ask for help. Tell us only what is relevant to the assistance you want.
